Baby Room
Just Born...
The baby room is a world of facination filled with cuddly toys, colourful mobiles and friendly sounds. This room is paradise for the baby with an inquistive mind! In this room, we take children as young as 3 months up to 2 years old.
The baby room offers a large open space where children can access a selection of planned activities including exploratory, sensory and physical play. These consist of treasure baskets, stackers, soft play and walkers. Separate to the open space area, we also have a baby cot room, where babies can take a nap in peaceful and supervised surroundings.
A Little Bit Older...
Slightly mature babies have access to the messy and carpet area. Activities such as problem solving, books, mark making, sand and water play are available here. The children also have an interactive board with pictures of their friends to encourage language and social development. Some areas are set up daily including the book and role play areas, as part of our continuous provision. The children have access to a range of equipment and toys which they can independently select at different times throughout the day.
The children in the baby room area have access to the outdoors throughout the day. We use buggies for the younger children in the playground. They also have access to appropriate equipment for their age and stage of development to use in the playground area. The children are able to explore the garden area and use the outdoors for a variety of activities and interests.
Moving On Up...
If our staff feel that babies have developed sooner than anticipated then they may be moved into the toddler room at an earlier stage. However, this will be discussed with the parent first and the transition from the baby room to the toddler room will be a staged approach no matter how developed your child is.
